Art Works Paris Seoul Gallery는 오는 4월 17일부터 5월 14일까지 빈지영의 개인전을 개최한다. 이번 전시는 회화를 기반으로 한 작가의 신작들을 중심으로, 이미지와 공간, 그리고 신체적 경험 사이의 관계를 탐구한다. 작가는 회화를 반영이나 담론, 혹은 감정을 비추는 거울로 다루기보다, 이미지가 과잉된 동시대 환경 속에서 쉽게 소거되고 흔들리는 개인의 내면 상태를 마주하는 물리적 과정으로 접근한다. 신체적 제스처의 리듬은 살아낸 시간의 흔적으로 남으며, 불확실성과 지속성을 동시에 드러낸다. 

그녀의 작업은 평면을 넘어 ‘Partition’ 구조로 확장하며, 이미지가 더 이상 표면에 머무르지 않고 공간을 조직하는 방식에 주목한다. 이 구조물들은 통로이자 장벽으로 기능하며, 불안정성을 은폐하지 않고 오히려 드러내며 동시대적 존재 방식에 대한 질문을 던진다. 빈지영은 서울대학교 미술대학에서 회화를 전공했으며, 베니스 및 서울, 베를린 등 국내외에서 활동해왔다.

Art Works Paris Seoul Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of Jiyoung Bin, with her recent paintings exploring the interplay between image, space, and embodied reception.

She approaches painting not as reflection, discourse, or a mirror of emotions, but as a physical process to confront and stabilize a fluctuating inner state, distorted by the outside. The rhythm of bodily gestures becomes traces of lived time, as evidence of both uncertainty and persistence. 

In her “Partition” series, she extends painting beyond the flat surface into freestanding structures, being simultaneously passages and barriers. Rather than concealing instability, her work reveals it. Jiyoung Bin received her BFA in Painting from Seoul National University and has exhibited internationally, including in Venice, Berlin, and Seoul.
